Spring 2012 registration for the boys and girls youth lacrosse season is officially closed! However, there are a few opening a select teams. Click the 'Register' link to see if your team is open. If not, please contact us through the email exchange to be placed on the 2012 wait list. There will be a mandatory Kick-Off Meeting in March for all those registered on the Boys and Girls teams. | | | | DYL League Membership & Philosophy | | | |  | | | posted 10/15/2011 Dedham Youth Lacrosse participates as a member of the Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL) for the boys and The Founder Lacrosse League (FGLL) for the Girls. Both leagues have similar philosophies when it comes to teaching the game of lacrosse, focusing on the joy of the sport, as well as good citizenship on and off the field.
MBYLL Philosophy: The league promotes the growth of the game of lacrosse throughout Massachusetts by providing leadership, guidance, training and structure to anyone interested in lacrosse. Member towns field all players as equally as possible with the goal of teaching the sport and providing a fun experience for all involved.

There are equal teams - no “A” or “B” teams

Players receive equal playing time

Coaches receive educational support in both lacrosse fundamentals and positive coaching

Rules are modified to emphasize sportsmanship.
FGLL Philosophy: To help elementary- and middle-school-aged girls in our member towns learn to play and enjoy lacrosse.

| | | | DYL Practices / Games Schedules | | | |  | | | posted 10/14/2011 DYL starts practice in March depending on weather and field availability. Practices for boys and girls will be on Tuesday and Thursday, roughly from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. Each team will have either a 1 hour or 1 ½ hour practice each of those days. A final schedule will be handed out at the Kick-Off meeting to be held in mid-March. The season consists of 8 games with a season ending Jamboree in mid-June. Final game schedules can be found on this website when they are finalized in March.
